Paving the Way

Paving The Way is both the work we do as a faith community as we move towards God and the work that God does in us when we accept His invitation to follow. —Fr. Daniel F. Barica, ofm, Pastor

The Paving the Way project included essential repairs and upgrades to our infrastructure by adding new utility pipes, computer conduit and reinforced soil to ensure that our campus will run efficiently through many years of use.  As you can see, this was a major project for SSJ which created a safe and hospitable environment for us and for future generations of parishioners to use. We have a place of worship and a school we can all be proud of.

Safety First
We are pleased with the new hospitality plaza area. Pavers, landscaping, and umbrellas replace the parking area in front of the parish office to create a welcoming gathering place for all.  The new plaza is conveniently located next to the church and is large enough for groups and families to gather or hold activities.

Prior to the renovation, safety concerns were raised because parishioners and students, moving through the property, shared this section of the parking lot with cars.  The promenade walkway, located in the middle of the parking lot, also provides a safe place for parishioners, visitors and students to walk to the church and school. This walkway eliminates the need for pedestrians to traverse through the parking areas.

Most importantly, the work of this project brings key areas of our campus to compliance with current construction codes and ADA standards, along with improved safety, drainage and lighting.

Hospitable and Welcoming Space
Walkways, a hospitality plaza and new landscaped areas extend a warm welcome to all who visit the parish and school. Landscape is drought tolerant and is fed by “smart” irrigation systems that sense moisture content.
